Carnoustie GolfCarnoustie golf course is fantastic - but a real challenge - particularly when the wind blows, as it nearly always does.
The course is one of the toughest on the British Open roster and has produced some dramatic finishes to major golf tournaments over the years.
The Barry burn winds its way alongside and accross many of the holes - catching many a wayward shot. American golf course designer Pete Dye has described Carnoustie as one of his favourites and lists it as an inspiration for many of his famous holes at Sawgrass, Crooked Stick and elsewhere.
Carnoustie town now has excellent transport links and a new luxury hotel next to the championship course
